Coconut 6-9-2017
Walking beneath the palm trees on a warm afternoon, I spotted these two coconuts hanging right above the pathway. The heavy tropical heat was in full swing, and looking straight up into the canopy offered a neat perspective that caught my attention. It was one of those quick moments where you stop in your tracks, frame the cluster against the sky, and appreciate the simple symmetry of island greenery. This was shot while in Cozumel back in 2015.
The composition isolates the green coconuts against the bright sky, framed naturally by textured palm fronds and yellow stems. Soft, diffused daylight highlights the smooth skin and fibrous caps of each shell, creating clean organic contrast and a crisp, tropical palette.
