Sunny Beach 10-21-2012

A late October trip to the Connecticut shoreline brought brisk autumn wind and dramatic, layered cloud formations right off the water. I set up low along the stone seawall near the wooden beach access stairs, timing the exposure to catch the gentle surf washing up over the tide line. The low autumn sun managed to burn through the thin clouds, casting high-contrast light across the rocky coast.

The wide view sweeps across a sandy shoreline bordered by large granite boulders and a wooden staircase on the left. Gentle ocean waves roll onto the dark sand, while high-altitude clouds stretch across the blue sky toward a bright sun flare above the open horizon.
